Start/Finish: The Start Box is located at Mitch’s Fuel & Food at 479 Latrobe Ave., Confluence,  PA 15424 (across the park from the Parkview Grill).  Begin your walk at the closed Parkview Grill, 482 Hughart St.,  Confluence, PA  15424. Walk during daylight hours only.

Water & Restrooms:   Available along the route.  Recommend that water be carried.  There are convenience stores along the route.

The Trail: The walk is on city streets & paved/cinder trails.  A confluence is a coming together.  The town is well named as this is where the Youghiogheny River, Casselman River,  and Laurel Creek join.  It was called Turkeyfoot by the Native Americans and early settlers because of its shape when seen from the surrounding mountaintops.

From the West: Take PA Turnpike I-76 to Donegal Exit 91. Take PA Rt. 31 E. Take PA Rt. 711/381 S to Ohiopyle. Cross the river & go under the bike bridge, turn left onto Sugarloaf Rd. (just after Negley).  Drive 8 mi. to Rte. 281N.  Cross Youghiogheny/Casselman Bridge.  Left onto Oden St.  Left at Logan Place,  left onto Hughart to Parkview Grill.
From the East: Take PA Turnpike I-76 W to Exit 110 Somerset.  Take PA Rt. 281 S. to Confluence.  Right on Oden St,  left at Logan Place,  left on Hughart to Parkview Grill.
From the South (DC, MD, VA): Take I-270 N to Frederick, take I-70 W. Take MD Turnpike I-68 W through Cumberland to Exit 14 Uniontown. Take US Rt. 40 W to PA Rt. 523 N to Confluence.  Left at Logan Place,  left onto Hughart to Parkview Grill.
